Upgraded and Improved 6.6L Choate Engineering designed their 6.6L 2001-2004 Duramax LB7 to be a massive upgrade in reliability over the OE 6.6L. Including full engine balancing, torque plate honing, flex plate and a new harmonic balancer. One common issue with the OE 6.6L that Choate fixes for their 6.6L Daily Driver Short Block is oil pressure issues. The LB7 had a major design flaw because of the use of a right-handed thread oil pump nut, known to back off and leave your engine without oil. Choate Engineering fixes the problem by using a left-handed nut that won't back out of its thread.
